Branch-wise closing ranks for 15+ top Telangana engineering colleges — CBIT, VNR VJIET, Vasavi, GRIET, JNTUH, OU, KMIT, SNIST, CVR, MVSR and more.
TS EAPCET (formerly TS EAMCET) counselling allots B.Tech seats through rank-based web options, and the single most useful planning number is each college-branch’s last rank — the rank of the final candidate admitted in a category. The tables below compile final-phase closing ranks for the most sought-after engineering colleges in Telangana, organised branch-by-branch with OC, BC, SC and ST columns, plus the previous year’s (2025) sourced OC last rank where available so you can see the trend. Use them to sequence your web options: put dream colleges first, then colleges that closed near your rank, then genuinely safe picks. The pattern is consistent every year — CSE closes tightest, AI/ML and IT a step deeper, ECE leads the core branches, and MECH/CIVIL close deepest. Category last ranks run far deeper than OC, so always read the column that actually applies to you.
Data: TS EAPCET 2026 counselling (final phase), sourced from official TGCHE/college data — indicative, verify with official counselling (tgeapcet.nic.in) before locking web options. BC column indicative of BC-B; boys/girls last ranks merged. Qualifying marks: 40/160 (25%) for OC/BC; no minimum for SC/ST.
CSE remains the most competitive branch: at top colleges like OU, CBIT and VNR VJIET it closes under rank 2,000 for OC, and even mid-tier autonomous colleges close within ~15,000.

CSE & AI/ML keep tightening. Demand for software branches grows faster than seats, so top-college CSE last ranks compress a little most years — CBIT CSE closed near rank 500 in phase 1 of 2024 and around 1,500 by the final phase of 2025’s counselling.
Core branches keep relaxing. As colleges convert MECH/CIVIL/EEE seats into CSE-allied programmes, the remaining core seats close deeper every year — VNR Mechanical, for example, closed beyond rank 35,000 (OC).
Phases matter more than years. The same college-branch can close 2–3× deeper in the final phase than in phase 1. If your rank misses a phase-1 cutoff, do not panic — hold your options through every phase.
Category pools move independently. A branch can tighten for OC but relax for BC-B or SC in the same year, because each reservation pool fills from its own merit list. Always track your own column, and remember girls-quota seats often close slightly deeper.

Open →NEET, JEE, EAPCET and 17 more exams — one account, per-mock pricing.
Open →The cutoff or "last rank" is the rank of the LAST candidate admitted to a college-branch-category combination in a counselling phase. If your rank number is smaller (better) than the last rank, you would have gotten that seat in that phase.
In the most recent final-phase counselling, CSE closed around rank 1,500 at CBIT, ~1,800 at VNR VJIET and ~2,270 at Vasavi for OC. BC closed roughly 2× deeper and SC/ST several times deeper. Phase-1 cutoffs are much tighter — CBIT CSE closed near rank 500 in phase 1 of 2024.
Seats are reserved category-wise (OC/EWS, BC-A to BC-E, SC, ST) and each category fills from its own merit pool, so last ranks differ. SC/ST candidates also have no minimum qualifying marks in TS EAPCET, while OC/BC need 40/160 (25%).
Typically 10–30% per college-branch. CSE and AI/ML keep tightening as demand and seat conversions grow; MECH/CIVIL/EEE keep relaxing. Final-phase last ranks are always the deepest of the season — phase 1 can be 2–3× tighter at top colleges.
They are compiled and normalized from public counselling data (TGCHE releases, college disclosures and counselling trackers like Careers360, Shiksha, Collegedunia and PW). Treat them as indicative planning numbers and always verify against the official last-rank documents on tgeapcet.nic.in before locking web options.
