TG EAPCET 2026 Exam Pattern — Complete Guide (Engineering MPC)

Everything you need to know about TG EAPCET 2026 exam structure, subject distribution, marking scheme, CBT interface, and bilingual options for Engineering stream.

TG EAPCET 2026 — the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test — is the gateway to B.Tech admissions in Telangana. Also referred to as TS EAMCET, the Engineering stream tests three subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. This guide covers the complete exam pattern for 2026.

Subject-wise Question Distribution

The Engineering stream has a fixed distribution across three subjects:

SubjectQuestionsMarks% of Paper
Mathematics808050%
Physics404025%
Chemistry404025%
Total160160100%

Mathematics carries 50% of the total marks — making it the single highest-leverage subject for rank improvement. A student who improves their Maths score from 50/80 to 70/80 gains 20 marks, the equivalent of a perfect Physics score.

The Bilingual CBT Interface

TG EAPCET's CBT interface offers both English and Telugu as exam languages. Students choose their preferred language before the exam begins, and the entire paper — questions, answer options, and instructions — is delivered in that language. This is one of TG EAPCET's most student-friendly features, ensuring that language is never a barrier to demonstrating subject knowledge.

This feature is especially important for students from Telugu-medium schools who are more comfortable processing scientific concepts in Telugu. Practising on a mock that replicates this exact format — full Telugu CBT — removes unfamiliarity and builds confidence before exam day. Vidhyapath's mocks support both languages, and purchasing any mock unlocks both the English and Telugu versions at no extra charge.

Marking Scheme

TG EAPCET uses a straightforward marking scheme:

  • Correct answer: +1 mark
  • Wrong answer: 0 marks (no negative marking)
  • Unanswered: 0 marks

The absence of negative marking means you should never leave a question blank. Even a random guess has a 25% probability of earning a mark. In practice, eliminating one or two wrong options before guessing raises this probability significantly.

TG EAPCET 2026 Syllabus Overview

TG EAPCET syllabus is based on the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) Class 11 and Class 12 curriculum. There are no chapters outside the TSBIE syllabus in the question paper.

Key high-weightage chapters by subject (based on 2019–2025 analysis):

  • Mathematics: Calculus (Differentiation + Integration, ~25–30 questions), Coordinate Geometry (~15 questions), Algebra (~12 questions), Trigonometry (~8 questions)
  • Physics: Mechanics (~12 questions), Electrostatics and Current Electricity (~10 questions), Modern Physics (~6 questions), Optics (~5 questions)
  • Chemistry: Organic Chemistry (~14 questions), Physical Chemistry (~14 questions), Inorganic Chemistry (~12 questions)

How to Prepare for TG EAPCET 2026

  1. Start with a full-length mock test to identify your current level and subject-wise weak areas. Vidhyapath's TG EAPCET 2026 Mock 1 is free.
  2. Focus on Maths first. With 80 questions and no negative marking, Maths has the highest return on revision time.
  3. Use distractor analysis to understand why wrong options were chosen. This is one of the most underused preparation techniques for TG EAPCET.
  4. Practise in the bilingual interface if you're from a Telugu-medium background. Language-switch delays during the real exam are a hidden score killer.
  5. Attempt at least 3–4 full-length mocks before exam day to build stamina and question-skipping strategy for the 3-hour paper.

TG EAPCET vs TS EAMCET — Are They the Same?

Yes — TG EAPCET and TS EAMCET refer to the same exam. The older name "TS EAMCET" (Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) was rebranded to "TG EAPCET" (Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test). Both names are used interchangeably in coaching centres and online resources.
